Fifty years ago, In 1964 President Lyndon  B. Johnson declared his intention mission to eradicate poverty in America by declaring “The War on Poverty”.  Through this declaration President Johnson enacted anti-poverty programs to address poverty in America, this was the birth of Community Action of Southern Indiana and other Community Action agencies across America.

 

In honor of providing  50 years of services to low-income individuals of Southern Indiana, on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at 5:30 P.M. Community Action of Southern Indiana will be celebrating our “50th.  Year Golden Jubilee  at our facility 1613 East 8th.
